It's getting there...

There are still a few things to do... a few kinks to work out, but it's up!  The new blog.  The one that is more official and is a big step towards making everything cohesive (blog, website, and online galleries).  Check it out, www.flashjorgensen.blogspot.com

More summer business...

Just to make you aware... I'm working on my new blog and it will soon replace this one.  I am excited to make things more cohesive yet separate at the same time.  I never imagined two years ago when I took my first photography workshop that I'd be doing this professionally.  So early on, without much thought I opted for "nubiephotos. blogspot" because I thought it would only ever be photos of my own "nubies" (a word used heavily in my household)!  But here I am two years later, loving life, loving the photography journey and finding a new balance between my family life and photography life.  I think I've found the perfect mix.  So with that, having found myself once again (cause don't we do that on a routine basis?), I'm ready to make another step forward.  I can't wait to share what I'm working on.  In the meantime, because posts are always better with pictures, here's one of my kids.  As I was going through my galleries today, I came across this untouched image.  It got passed by as I have been uploading so many lately.  This happened on Fathers Day!  It was not posed or encouraged in any way!  I love her little hand with painted red fingernails on top of his head!

Summer Business...

I hope you're having as much as we are around here!  Although it got off to a slow start, we're certainly enjoying the high life of summer fun!

Now onto a little business info...
1st... I'm selling my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (black) along with it's kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm) and a lens I bought later the 50mm 1.8.  I used this for less than a year and got some amazing images.  I will share some and give you many more details in an entire post.  I just wanted to let you know in case you or someone you know might be interested.  Please call or email me.  Price for total package is $425, in EXCELLENT condition.
2nd...  I wanted to offer the first 3 people who schedule their individual or family session with me a discount.  It's time to start thinking, planning and executing your plan to have a family picture taken this year.  If you're like me, you're wrapped up in the middle of fun, summer activities, family reunions, parties, BBQ's (oh how I love summer) etc, etc and in the blink of an eye, you'll be rushing to pull it together in time for school to start.  Just as you get into the routine of going back to school it will dawn on you that Thanksgiving and Christmas are weeks away and you haven't had your family picture taken yet.  Although, so much of my life is pulling it together at the last minute, I enjoy it so much more when it's planned out... especially my family pictures.  It makes it less painful and can even be a memorable experience if it's planned ahead of time.  Wouldn't you like to send out a recent family picture with your Christmas cards this year?  Okay so here's the deal-lee-O... first booking... 25% off, second 20% off and third 15% off the regular price.  Plus, I'll throw in your CD for free.  Please call or email me.

Background...

I bought this new background months ago, but have never used it.  I know, it's not the time of year to be taking pictures inside, but oh well.  I think it's adorable for little girls.  What do you think?

I know, I know...

I'm a slacker.  I've taken tons of pictures and I haven't had a second to sit down and actually post any.  Summertime kinda does that to me.  I can't seem to sit still.  I have a project list, a to-do list, a chore list and a list of fun things to do with my kids all going on at once.  So, while I have two seconds, let me share a few.  This first one is a new absolute favorite of mine.  It makes me smile!

Getting ready...

for me... it's summer!
But, for her... it's her WEDDING!

Before our trip, I had the chance to go and capture this gorgeous bride getting ready for her big day!  It was a perfect May day and she was so calm and relaxed.  She looked absolutely beautiful.  Some of my favorite "getting ready" pictures came from this shoot.  Here is the first picture I took when I arrived and I think it's kinda sexy!  I'll share more later, but for now...

Attention boys: she's only TWELVE!

I KNOW, can you believe it?  She really is only twelve.  She has had to grow up with adult siblings, so I think that has had a major affect on her in a way that she's always acted older than she really is.  She's beautiful though, don't you think?  I'm a bit biased because she is my baby sister!  Here are a few favorites from the other night.  She brought her cute friend with her so there are a few of her too.

I'm off for the rest of the week... headed to New York City.  We're going to a Yankees game and to see WICKED!  I can't wait.  Each year my husband has the ability to earn an all expense paid trip where they let us play a little and then they have their company awards dinner.  This year the trip is to New York City, and I couldn't be more excited.  I hope to return with some great images of the city!  The last time I was there was on 11-11-01, just two months after 9-11.  I got to see the city in complete devastation.  I saw ground zero while it was still smokey and extremely smelly.  Those images are forever in my mind.  I hope to replace them with a happier sense of New York.

What a fun little family...

These guys were great!  Little B was hilarious and would make the most outrageous faces and was quite the little diva.  She had NO PROBLEM with me taking her picture.  She would have let me go on for hours I'm sure.  It had not been one of my best days, so I am grateful for them.  They made ME smile and my night ended on a good note.  It was exactly what I needed!  Thanks for a fun Saturday guys!

A few others of the bride Miss Lacey!

She is FAB-U-LOSO!  She really is.  She and her mother run the Up With Kids program in this state.  Talk about an A-MAZING program.  Last year my little Sky participated in a week summer camp and then performed at Raging Waters.  She loved IT so much and Miss. Lacey and Mrs. Nancy SO much that I had to enroll her during the school year.  I was thrilled to find out that Mrs. Nancy (the mom) ran the West Jordan program.  It could not have been any better.  I went to one of their two performances yesterday.  I was so impressed. The play was super cute, the songs, the writing and that was totally entertaining!  I have sat through a few of my little Sky's dance performances, and those have been brutal.  This though was fun and my two little ones even enjoyed it.  Miss Lacey you are a doll and we love you.  We are so excited you and wish you the best!
